Teachers' Garden Design
This landscape design was created several years ago for a family of teachers. They wanted to do the work themselves, and use the garden as a demonstration garden for visiting students. They weren’t sure where to get started, and wanted to make sure that their landscape was connected to their lifestyle and values. As our clients were passionate Christians, we included a pathway shaped as a crucifix, surrounded by raised beds. The front yard was very wet in the winter, so we lined the cross-shaped pathway with stepping stones, allowing them to harvest salad in their slippers without getting wet throughout the winter rains. We recommended the removal of existing high-maintenance ornamental species, and created a custom plant list that suited their taste and maintenance capacity. We love working with passionate teachers and students!
